AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium

PARTNER ORGANIZATION: American Marketing Association

The AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium (Consortium) is the premiere consortium in the marketing discipline.

Indiana University: 2021 Host

The 2021 AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium will be an in-person event, held on August 8-11 at the Indiana University! Many of our recipient organizations are holding meetings during the summer, primarily online, including:

  •  European Marketing Association Conference, May 25-28, 2021
  •  2021 Annual Meeting of the Academy of International Business, June 25-July 1, 2021
  •  American Marketing Association Summer Conference, August 4-6, 2021.

Consortium, beginning in 1966, has brought together the very best doctoral students and faculty from business schools around the world to share in a three-four day event, exposing doctoral students to a rich diversity of topics, methodological perspectives, and theories. The AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium is designed to spark creativity and insight by challenging students to think outside of their existing paradigms and to broaden their views on what constitutes excellent quality research. The Consortium helps students make a successful transition to their first faculty position by providing guidance on research, teaching, and service. Students interact with faculty scholars who have made important contributions to the field and who are dedicated to helping students become the next generation of leaders in the marketing discipline.

Doctoral Consortium Award

I received the award at an early stage in my career. When I received it I was already located at Bilkent University in Turkey, my hometown. The award had been a source of pride for me and for my institution. I am happy to receive it, however, I did not experience any specific contribution of the award to my career.

Doctoral Consortium Award

I would like to express my sincere thanks for being able to attend this year’s AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium. The Sheth Foundation is doing an amazing job supporting young scholars in their research careers. This is of great help especially to foreign-born scholars, such as myself, who might not have been given sufficient opportunities in their respective home countries.
